Tires and Parts
When possible, Hunt will pass on its national account prices for tires and parts. At several select maintenance locations Hunt will be able to work on an Owner-Operator’s tractor.
Tractor Lease / Trade Sale Program
Hunt has a tractor purchase program allowing an Owner to buy equipment more economically. In certain situations Hunt may be able to take the Owner-Operators present tractor in on trade.
Fuel Network / Fuel Subsidy
Owner-Operators can purchase company fuel at the company facilities at cost and receive discounts at authorized fuel network locations. When national fuel prices index exceeds a specified level, Owner-Operators will receive a fuel subsidy for loaded miles.
Plates and Permits Program
Hunt Transportation purchases the plates and permits and the Owner-Operator reimburses Hunt Transportation during the year at a rate of $44.00 per week up to the cost of the plates and permits. If you run a sufficient number of miles in the calendar year, you will qualify for a re-license bonus from Hunt Transportation which will pay for your permits for the subsequent year. The Owner-Operator must be leased to Hunt Transportation in the subsequent year to receive the re-license bonus.
Here is how to calculate the re-licensing bonus. The Owner will receive a $.06 per mile credit for all authorized delivered miles over 90,000 up to that number of miles multiplied by $.06 which will cover but not exceed the full cost of the license and permits. Plate and permit costs for Owner-Operators joining Hunt Transportation after the 1st of the year are prorated during the year as a mileage requirement for the re-licensing bonus. This gives the Owner-Operator the same opportunity to secure part or all of the re-licensing bonus no matter when the Owner-Operator begins the lease with Hunt Transportation during the year.
Equipment
Owner-Operators are expected to have a full set of load securement equipment when they sign-on. Anyone with less than a full set of equipment can purchase the equipment from Hunt Transportation with a $500.00 deposit and then a weekly withholding of $100.00. The withholding will begin on the fifth
week after signing on.
